The MPC Key 37 is Akai's most compact standalone MPC — a full production synthesizer and sampler built around the MPC platform, with a 37-key velocity and aftertouch-sensitive keybed added as a first-class performance interface rather than an afterthought. The sound engine runs eight independent synth tracks with AIR's suite of instruments including Electric, Bassline, Tubesynth, Mellotron, and more, backed by the full MPC sampler with 10GB of onboard content. Sixteen MPC pads handle drum programming and clip launching in the traditional way, while the keybed opens up melodic performance and chord voicing with aftertouch expressivity. A 7-inch color touchscreen drives the full MPC workflow — sequence editing, plugin instrument browsing, sample editing, and mixer operation — without a computer in sight. Four CV/gate outputs and MIDI I/O extend control into modular and hardware synth territory, and eight individual audio outputs handle complex routing for live performance or studio mixing. WiFi connectivity enables Splice integration and direct sample browsing from the cloud. A genuinely complete standalone production instrument in a compact, gig-ready package.
