The Volcano is a patented Bison design built around a thick, conical stave-constructed shell, tapering from a 14" diameter at the batter side out to a 15" diameter at the resonant side.  That conical shape combined with the stave construction gives this drum an excellent authoritative presence with tons of full-bodied tone and volume on tap, unlike anything you'll get out of a standard cylindrical shell.

Vulcanos came from the factory with the unique and sought after 14" NGU magnesium cast hoop on top, and 15" triple flange hoop on bottom. Both of which are key ingredients in the magic recipe of this drum's storied sonic signature.

Bison hasn't produced drums in many years, making genuine examples of their patented designs like the Volcano increasingly scare to come by, especially in extremely well cared for condition as seen on this example. Enjoy!
