This AVRI '62 was built during Fender's 50th Anniversary year, featuring the commemorative gold headstock decal. The Vintage White nitrocellulose finish has naturally aged to a rich buttercream patina. The guitar is fully numbers-matching: neck dated April 10, 1996, and body stamped May 31, 1996. Original CTS pots date to late 1995. Factory solder joints and cloth wiring are untouched.

Condition
Very good. Honest minor cosmetic wear consistent with age. Front has minor marks on bottom face. Sides and bottom edges have small marks and light blemishes. Back has minor surface marks. Hardware shows light natural oxidation. Maple neck is in great condition. Rosewood slab fingerboard has no fretwear. Structurally sound and mechanically excellent.
Background
The American Vintage Reissue series was introduced in 1982 to recreate Fender's classic pre-CBS models. The '62 Stratocaster reissue was one of the most popular models, featuring slab rosewood fingerboards, 7.25" radius, and vintage-correct pickups. 1996 was Fender's 50th Anniversary year, with commemorative gold decals on headstocks. These AVRI models are highly regarded for their build quality and period-correct specifications.
