Sonor Early 80's HLD581 EB Signature Series / Makassar Ebony 12Lugs Birch Lite

The "Signature Series," produced from 1982 to 1993, represented the pinnacle of SONOR's lineup at the time. It offered a choice between two shell types—12-ply/12mm beech or 12-ply/7mm birch—and this particular item features the latter. The "Birch Light" model is relatively rare in the domestic market, as the importer at the time did not stock large quantities of the "Light" shell variant.

Unlike the "Heavy" shell models—known for their distinctive mellow character and massive, weighty tone—this drum is characterized by an open, expansive, and bold sound.

While there are minor surface scratches, slight pitting, and some soiling consistent with normal use, the parallel-action strainer system functions perfectly, and there are no scratches or defects that would compromise the sound quality. It remains in excellent condition.
