This ukulele is entirely handmade by Hideaki Urabe and his son Naohiro in their workshop in Kyoto. This particular instrument is a medium-sized model with an African mahogany body. It features a mahogany neck, wenge fingerboard, rosewood bridge, white body binding, abalone rosette, a cat's eye inlay at the 12th fret, and Grover geared tuners. The neck shape is slightly thinner and easier to grip, characteristic of Urabe ukuleles, and the zero fret design makes playing in the lower positions exceptionally easy. This ukulele boasts a light, clear, and atmospheric tone thanks to its mahogany body. The 14-fret joint provides excellent playability, and the slightly longer 392mm scale (compared to a typical concert size) ensures tonal stability. This popular medium-sized model is comfortable and easy to hold.
