Gibson’s 1956 recipe is wonderfully uncomplicated: a big mahogany neck, two soapbars, an ABR-1 and enough gold paint to make you wonder why anyone ever bothered inventing another color. This 2025 Custom Shop ’56 Reissue brings the whole thing back — fortunately without requiring you to refinance your house to buy an actual 1956.

Condition

Born on September 29th, 2025, and she remains in excellent condition. The VOS treatment gives her the proper lightly aged vintage presentation without looking like somebody dragged her behind a Buick for three counties. And at 8.4 pounds, she’s a very comfortable example of a full-fat ’56 Goldtop — although that .936" to 1.019" neckmakes no apologies whatsoever. This is a neck for people who believe a guitar neck should actually contain some wood.

Includes the original Gibson Custom Shop Lifton-style hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity and the original case candy shown in the photos. We also just installed a fresh new set of 10-46’s, so she’s all dressed up, tuned up and ready to remind everyone that P-90s were doing just fine before humbuckers showed up and started taking all the credit.

Return Policy- 

We do accept returns up to 14 days from the point of the initial sale, which means that the guitar must be back in our possession within this 14 day period. However, please be aware of the following conditions: If for any reason you wish to return the guitar, just call or email me directly, within 24 hours of your receiving the item, and let me know that you want to return it. Once we receive the guitar back, in the same condition, you will receive a refund, less a $50 restock fee. Also be aware that the initial shipping fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
